The Evening Hoot - Trusted fiction resourceWelcome to The Evening Hoot, a trusted literature news source that publishes daily reviews and updates on bestselling teen fantasy series and stand-alone novels.

I love that rush of excitement when I stumble on a new cover, an upcoming title, or an exclusive excerpt. I love that feeling of being the first to bring the latest news to readers everywhere. I feel satisfied to be able to deliver the highest quality covers and I rest assured knowing that The Evening Hoot’s archive of news, reviews, and articles never falters.

The Evening Hoot allows me to express my writing and share my reviews to others who might enjoy the same book. It gives me the freedom to post any interesting tidbit on any series or book I consider worthy of mentioning. At the same time, you have the freedom to select the news stories that appertain to a certain series or author.

I believe this is truly a great media resource for booklovers of children and teen fiction. Above all, it is the news source I always desired to be able to visit when in need of a cover, a summary, a release date, or any nugget of news and information.

I’m known as Bookie around here and I am the founder, creator, and author of The Evening Hoot. I hope this website serves you well and that you’ll enjoy your visit so much that you might consider dropping by again another time. ;)

History

Launched in January 2010, The Evening Hoot took two years in the making. Named after a fictional newspaper in the Guardians of Ga’Hoole series, the blog started off as a fansite for the series, reporting on any news and inviting fellow fans to submit articles about the world of Ga’Hoole every week. Between late editions and temporary loss of interest, Bookie abandoned the site in April 2008, relaunching it in September of the same year. This too, was a failed attempt.

Although Guardians of Ga’Hoole may have lost it’s initial appeal for Bookie, his interest in reporting on books never wavered, prompting him to join the Warriors Wish forum and post the latest Warriors news. It was then that Bookie realized it wasn’t the loss of interest that made him abandon The Evening Hoot, but his divided interest between different series like Guardians of Ga’Hoole and Warriors.

Today

Months of productivity, procrastination, and code tweaking later (not to mention a brand new logo), The Evening Hoot was launched in a fresh attempt to do Bookie’s favorite series justice. Despite its Ga’Hoolian origin, Bookie kept the original name of his first fansite because he had grown fond of it… but mostly because he had already paid for the domain name and hosting.

The Evening Hoot still aims to do what it set out to do two years earlier, albeit on a grander scale: to publish news, reviews, and articles about books, inviting fans and readers to share their writing along the way. We hope you join our ride as The Evening Hoot steps into the dizzying world of websites, blogs, and fansites.
